This is the first book to describe the main Druze faith, the Druze moral logic of survival without the support of a sovereign state, and the mutuality of co-operation with the Jews. The Druze are the only minority to serve in the Israeli armed forces. Their political involvement within the State’s system allows them to influence government policy to secure the safety of their brothers in neighbouring countries and mediate between conflicting ethnic groups. The difficult issues of the Golan Druze and of the 1982 Lebanon war are addressed, as well as perceived injustices within the Israeli democratic system.
Chapters include secret documentation relating to the “Transfer Plan” – hitherto an unknown plan by Zionist leaders in 1937 to remove the Druze of Palestine to Syria by Jewish purchasing of Druze lands and property in Palestine.
